How do I connect my Edison the Medium/Grand/Giant to my Smart Home platform?
The latest "smart" version of the Fatboy® Edison the Medium/Grand/Giant features Matter, the universal Smart Home standard.
Below the batch numbers:

This smart function allows you to connect your lamp directly to your favourite Smart Home platform—without using the Fatboy Connect app. The smart versions of the Edison the Medium, Edison the Grand and Edison the Giant are compatible with Matter-enabled Smart Home platforms, including:
- Google Home
- Apple Home
- Amazon Alexa
- Samsung SmartThings
- Other Matter-compatible Smart Home platforms

- To connect your lamp you need a device that supports Matter. This device allows your lamp and your smart home app to communicate with each other.
⚠️ Before you begin
Before connecting your lamp, make sure that:
- Your Edison the Medium/Grand/Giant is connected to power and switched on.
- Your smartphone is connected to your home Wi-Fi network.
- Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
- You have installed a Matter-compatible Smart Home app.

Step 1 – Turn on your Edison the Medium/Grand/Giant
Switch on the lamp.
If your Edison the Medium/Grand/Giant has previously been connected to another Smart Home, first perform a factory reset. Please refer to the user manual of your smart home system for the reset procedure.
Step 2 – Open your Smart Home app
Open your preferred Matter-compatible Smart Home app, for example Google Home, Apple Home, Amazon Alexa or Samsung SmartThings.
Select: Add Device → New Device → Add Matter Device
The exact wording may differ depending on the platform.
Step 3 – Scan the Matter QR code
Scan the Matter QR code located on the product label,
If you are unable to scan the QR code, you can manually enter the Matter setup code instead.
Step 4 – Complete the setup
Follow the on-screen instructions in your Smart Home app.
Once connected, you can:
- Assign the lamp to a room.
- Give it a custom name, for example Garden Light or Patio Edison.
- Include it in routines, automations and voice commands.

You can control the lamp using your preferred Smart Home app or, depending on the platform, with voice assistants such as Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, or Siri.
