How to make your Bakkes products last
Our Bakkes is made of aluminium and the plant pot of Polyethylene. The aluminium parts are powder-coated, which protects your Bakkes from sun, rain and wind. The material is very easy to maintain and is perfect for outdoor use.
Maintenance tips
Follow these tips to help your Bakkes last as long as possible:
1. Wipe regularly with a cloth
To prevent dirt from adhering to the coating, it is important to regularly wipe your Bakkes with a soft cloth.
2. Nice that candlestick, but...
Take care! Don't leave things like a candlestick in the same place for a long time, it can cause stains.
3. Bird droppings
Bird droppings stains are best removed as soon as possible. Despite the strong coating, the acid in bird droppings can damage your coating.
4. No cover!
Be careful: aluminium garden furniture cannot withstand a cover. This can damage the coating. Not using your Bakkes for long periods of time, like during the winter season? For the longest lifespan, it is best to store it, e.g. in the garage. You can screw off the legs of the table so that they take up as little space as possible. No room for this? You can also leave your Bakkes outside (without a cover).
5. Good cleaning
Clean your Bakkes properly at least twice a year with plenty of water and green soap. This way, dirt and external influences will not adhere to the coating. You can read exactly how at point 6 below
6. Freshen up your coating
With a standard car wax (without abrasive properties), you can give your Bakkes an extra protective coating. Read the car wax's instructions carefully before use.
First, make sure you have cleaned thoroughly with green soap and rinsed well so that no residue of soap remains. Then wait until your Bakkes is completely dry.
First, try out the car wax on a small and invisible piece, such as the underside of the table or your surface. Apply a layer of car wax, let it dry (check the car wax's instructions for drying times) and rub with a soft clean cloth to make the surface shine.
