How to make your Toní products last

Our Toní collection is made from aluminium with a powder coating that protects your Toní from the sun, rain and wind. This material is easy to maintain and is perfect for outdoor use.

Maintenance tips
Follow these tips to help your Toní products last as long as possible:

  1. Clean regularly with a soft cloth
Clean your Toní products regularly with a soft cloth to ensure dirt doesn’t stick to the coating.

  2. That potted plant looks great, but...
Please note! Don’t leave items such as a potted plants in the same place for too long, because that will cause stains.

  3. Bird gifts
It is best to remove bird droppings as quickly as possible. The coating works really well against the elements, but the acids in bird poop can eat away at the coating.

  4. No cover!
Please note: powder-coated aluminium outdoor furniture doesn’t do well under a cover. In fact, keeping your furniture under a cover may damage the coating. Would you like to store your Toní product for longer periods, such as during the winter? The best way to optimise your product’s lifespan is to store it somewhere, like in the garage. You can unscrew the table legs and stack the chairs to take up as little space as possible. Don’t have room? You can also leave your Toni products outside (without a cover).

  5. Thorough cleaning
Clean your Toní products thoroughly at least twice a year with plenty of water and mild liquid soap. This repels dirt and reduces wear and tear on the coating. Find out how to do this here.

  6. Freshen up your coating
Use a standard (non-abrasive) car wax product to provide your Toní products with an extra protective layer. Read the car wax instructions carefully before use.

Make sure you have cleaned your Toní product with a mild, liquid soap beforehand, and then given it a good rinse to remove all the soap. After the rinse, wait until your Toni set is completely dry before applying the car wax.

Try the car wax first on a small invisible patch of coating, such as on the bottom of the table or a chair. Apply a layer of car wax, leave it to dry (check the car wax instructions for drying times) and then rub the wax with a clean cloth to polish the surface.
